Cognitive
biases is way of thinking that is based on personal experience, work
experience, and cultural grow up. We all think a certain way. It is
based on what we allow to influence us. We need to be aware of what we
allow to influence us. Sometimes we are right and sometimes we are
wrong. We must not let anything get in the way of that. Now, there are
times in life when we make a decision and it is wrong. We must make
decisions that are fair. Now, it can be difficult at times especially
when growing up around people who do not give you the best knowledge
possible. You have to learn how to make decisions in business and in
life that are best. There are times you need to do what is best for you.
Life can be difficult and there comes a time when you need to make a
difficult decision. A decision you need to make for your own life. Some
techniques are stop assuming one thing is true because of one source
called "Anchoring Bias." This is based on the fact that we see one piece
of information and then we assume that it is true. One source does not
make something true. In order for something to be true, you must do deep
research and listen to both sides. Another thing that affects decision
making is "The Band Wagon Effect." the effect is believing in something
because it is popular. Now, people believe whatever they want to believe
and that is fine. But, majority does not make something true. It is
this way in all things in life. If a lot of people believe in it, then
it might be true. You need to find your own truth in this world or your
forever lost. Conservatism Bias, is where you trust the old information
more then the new information. It is not always good to do that.
Sometimes, it is good to trust the old information first. However, in
some areas like business it is best to trust the most useful
information. That is the information that matters.
